SR-71 Blackbird — 1,775-Piece Reconnaissance Aircraft

Assemble a detailed, large-scale model of the legendary SR-71 Blackbird reconnaissance aircraft from 1,775 pieces.

WHY THIS BUILD IS EPIC

An undisputed icon of aviation and Cold War engineering, the SR-71 Blackbird still holds records that are untouchable decades after its service. Its combination of blistering speed, extreme altitude ceiling, and early stealth technology made it a near-mythical machine. For the serious builder and aviation collector, this project is a chance to construct a tribute to that incredible legacy.

This isn't just another aircraft model; it's a deep dive into the unique and unforgettable design philosophy of the Skunk Works. The finished build captures the sleek, menacing form that made the Blackbird an object of awe and fascination around the world.

THE BUILD

This 1,775-piece project is an exercise in advanced structural and shaping techniques. You will construct the long, slender fuselage, the complex delta wing, and the massive engine nacelles. The all-black colour scheme demands precision, as every line and angle contributes to the definitive final look.

The build integrates electronic components to provide remote-controlled functions, adding another layer of engineering complexity to the construction process and bringing the finished model to life.

BUILD EXPERIENCE

Building the Blackbird is a focused and absorbing experience. The methodical assembly process allows you to appreciate the advanced aerodynamics and unconventional design of the original aircraft. It's a highly rewarding project for any builder with an appreciation for aerospace history and boundary-pushing design.
