WHY THIS BUILD IS EPIC

This is not a simple assembly. It’s a true shipwright's challenge, demanding skill and dedication to create a piece worthy of any collection. The Golden Version 2026 is a significant update, refined with specialised, intricately carved decoration parts that set it apart from all previous editions.

Built using authentic plank-on-bulkhead construction, the project uses premium materials including laser-cut wood, cast metal, and photo-etched brass. This is model engineering at its most traditional and rewarding.

THE BUILD

You will build this impressive galleon from the keel up. The core of the project is the plank-on-bulkhead hull, shaped with precision-cut frames and fillers to achieve an accurate form. From there, you will deck out the ship, assemble the cannons and their carriages, and fit the gun port lids.

The build continues with the masts and spars, before you tackle the complex task of rigging using the five different diameters of line provided. The final touches include hoisting the pre-sewn cloth sails and adding the huge array of detailed metal fittings that give the ship its definitive character.

BUILD EXPERIENCE

This is a serious and deeply engaging project for the dedicated builder. With an estimated 160 working hours required, it rewards patience and precision. The process is demanding but supported by a comprehensive, full-colour illustrated English manual, breaking down the complex assembly into manageable stages. The experience is one of pure, traditional model craft.
